Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods Policy
Last updated: 13 August 2026
Sessa Interiors is operated by SSS Home Needs Limited. We want our returns process to be clear and fair while recognising that many of our products are large furniture items, lighting products, bathroom furniture or goods made specifically for a customer's order.
Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights under Irish consumer law.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns for Online Orders
For eligible products purchased online, you have 14 calendar days from the date you receive the goods to notify us that you wish to cancel your purchase.
After notifying us, you must return the goods within a further 14 calendar days.
You do not need to provide a reason for cancelling an eligible purchase within the statutory cooling-off period.
To request a return, contact Sessa Interiors before sending the goods back. We will provide the appropriate return or collection instructions.
2. Return Costs for Change-of-Mind Returns
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
Many Sessa Interiors products are large, heavy or bulky and cannot normally be returned using standard postal services. Return costs therefore vary depending on the product size, weight, quantity, collection location and transport requirements.
Where Sessa Interiors arranges collection on your behalf, we will confirm the applicable collection charge before arranging the return. The charge will reflect the actual direct cost of the return transport.
For bulky goods that cannot normally be returned by post, the return cost is estimated at a maximum of approximately €500.
Customers may also arrange their own suitable return transport, subject to contacting Sessa Interiors in advance and following our return instructions.
No return or collection charge will apply where Sessa Interiors is responsible for the return because the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
3. Condition of Returned Products
Customers may inspect products to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
You are responsible for taking reasonable care of goods while they are in your possession.
Returned products should, where reasonably possible, include their original components, accessories, instructions and packaging.
If a product has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it and this causes a genuine reduction in its value, Sessa Interiors reserves the right to deduct the actual diminished value from the refund where permitted by law.
Examples may include significant:
-
damage;
-
staining;
-
scratches or marks;
-
excessive wear;
-
missing components;
-
alterations;
-
misuse;
-
damage caused by unnecessary handling or unsuitable repacking.
Any deduction will be based on the actual reduction in value of the returned product and will not be an automatic fixed restocking charge.
4. Restocking Fees
Sessa Interiors does not apply a fixed restocking fee to returns made under a customer's statutory cancellation rights.
Where a return does not fall within a customer's statutory rights and Sessa Interiors exceptionally agrees, at its discretion, to accept the product back, separate return or restocking conditions may be agreed with the customer in writing before the return is accepted.
This does not affect any statutory consumer rights.
5. Custom-Made, Bespoke and Personalised Products
The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not apply to products that are genuinely made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised.
This may include products manufactured specifically for the customer using bespoke dimensions, specifications, finishes or other customer-specific requirements.
Where a product falls within this exception, it cannot normally be cancelled or returned simply because the customer has changed their mind.
This restriction does not affect your rights where a custom-made or personalised product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or does not conform to the agreed specification.
6. Sale and Clearance Products
Products purchased during a sale, promotion or clearance event retain the same statutory consumer rights that apply to eligible full-price online purchases.
Eligible sale or clearance goods may therefore be returned under the statutory cooling-off provisions described above.
After the applicable statutory return period has expired, Sessa Interiors does not normally accept sale or clearance products for change-of-mind returns.
This does not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Where a product was specifically discounted because of a clearly disclosed defect or imperfection that the customer was made aware of before purchase, that disclosed issue cannot later be treated as an undisclosed fault.
7. Damaged or Faulty Products
Please inspect your order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If an item arrives visibly damaged, please contact us within 48 hours where possible and provide photographs or video showing:
-
the product;
-
the damage;
-
the packaging;
-
any visible damage to the outer packaging.
Reporting delivery damage promptly helps us investigate the issue with our supplier, delivery partner or installer.
The 48-hour request is intended to assist with investigation and does not remove or reduce your statutory rights if a fault or damage is reported later.
Where goods are faulty, damaged on delivery, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract, Sessa Interiors will provide the remedy required under applicable Irish consumer law.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
-
repair;
-
replacement;
-
price reduction; or
-
refund.
Where Sessa Interiors is legally responsible for faulty or non-conforming goods, the customer will not be charged for the necessary return or collection of those goods.
8. Exchanges
Sessa Interiors does not operate a general change-of-mind exchange programme.
If you change your mind about an eligible product within the statutory cooling-off period, you may return it in accordance with this policy and place a separate order for another product.
Where goods are faulty or damaged, any repair, replacement, refund or other remedy will be handled in accordance with the customer's statutory rights.
9. Refunds
Once an eligible cancellation has been accepted, refunds will be processed in accordance with applicable consumer law.
For an eligible change-of-mind cancellation, the refund will include:
-
the price paid for the returned goods; and
-
the cost of the standard delivery option originally offered, where required by law.
If you selected a more expensive premium delivery service, any additional amount above the standard delivery charge does not normally have to be refunded.
The customer's direct return/collection cost for a change-of-mind return remains the customer's responsibility.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or received satisfactory evidence that the goods have been returned, where permitted by law.
Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
10. Original Delivery, Assembly and Other Services
Where an eligible online order is cancelled under statutory cooling-off rights, the treatment of the original standard delivery charge will follow applicable consumer law.
Where additional premium services were purchased, such as enhanced delivery or other optional services, their refundability will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
Where professional removal, disassembly or specialist transport is required solely because the customer has changed their mind, the direct return costs may be the customer's responsibility where permitted and properly disclosed.
Where removal or collection is required because the goods are faulty and Sessa Interiors is legally responsible, the customer will not be charged the necessary return/removal cost.
11. Products That Cannot Be Returned for Change of Mind
In addition to genuinely custom-made or personalised goods, certain products may be excluded from statutory change-of-mind rights where an exemption under Irish consumer law applies.
Any applicable restriction will be communicated clearly where relevant.
A statutory exclusion from change-of-mind returns does not remove a customer's rights where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise non-conforming.
12. Cancelling an Order Before Delivery
If you wish to cancel an order before delivery, contact Sessa Interiors as soon as possible.
For standard products, your cancellation rights will be assessed in accordance with applicable consumer law and the status of the order.
For genuinely bespoke or personalised products manufactured specifically to your requirements, cancellation rights may be restricted.
13. Returning Goods
Do not send large furniture or other bulky goods back without contacting us first.
We will provide the appropriate return address, collection arrangements or other instructions.
Customers remain responsible for ensuring that change-of-mind returns are reasonably protected for return transport.
14. Statutory Rights
This Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods Policy is intended to operate alongside Irish consumer law.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or overrides rights that a consumer is legally entitled to exercise.
