Bookcases FAQs
How do I choose a bookcase for my space?
Measure the available wall width, height and depth, including skirting, sockets and delivery access. Compare the actual shelf arrangement and dimensions rather than judging capacity from photographs. The Mallory Bookcase is listed at 80 × 30 × 190 cm with five shelves.
Are all bookcases supplied flat packed?
No. Assembly requirements vary. The Astoria Bookcase is listed as requiring no assembly, while other models may need assembly. Follow the instructions and check delivery access even for an assembled unit.
How much weight can shelves hold, and should I secure a bookcase?
Use the manufacturer’s load limits for the exact model; there is no collection-wide kilogram rating. Spread weight evenly, put heavier items lower down and follow any anti-tip or wall-fixing instructions. Use fixings suitable for your wall and seek professional help if needed.
How long does delivery take, and is assembly included?
Check the selected product’s estimated lead time and confirm delivery for your address before ordering. Delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed. Standard delivery is to an accessible front door; room placement, stairs, unpacking and assembly are included only when expressly stated or agreed. Selected furniture assembly may be available by prior arrangement, with the scope and price confirmed first. See our Shipping Policy.
Can I return an online order if I change my mind?
For eligible online purchases, tell us you wish to cancel within 14 calendar days of receiving the goods, then return them within a further 14 days. Reasonable inspection is allowed; unnecessary handling may reduce the refund. Direct change-of-mind return costs are normally yours. Exceptions can apply to genuinely bespoke or personalised goods, but ordering a standard option from a supplier does not automatically make it bespoke. Read our Returns, Refunds & Faulty Goods Policy before ordering.
What warranty applies, and what if an item is faulty?
Our furniture guarantee covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for one year, subject to the Warranty Policy. Any more favourable guarantee expressly agreed for your item will be honoured. Your statutory rights are separate and do not end when a voluntary guarantee expires. Contact returns@sessainteriors.ie for faults or delivery damage. Report damage within 48 hours where possible; this is not a deadline that removes your statutory rights.
